The Sabin LUTC has received a proposal for changes to the home at 3142 NE 20th Avenue, which is within the boundaries of the Irvington Historic District and therefore must go through the historic review process. The owners want to convert an existing attached garage to an accessory dwelling unit (ADU). They are requesting approval to convert the garage door to French doors and add windows. We've received notice that an application has been made to reduce the side and rear setbacks at 4224 NE 19th. It appears that this application is to legalize some existing structures that intrude into the required setbacks and were not properly permitted when they were built several years ago. We will be discussing this proposed adjustment at the LUTC meeting on Wednesday, February 7, 2016, in the upstairs conference room at Whole Foods at 7:00 pm.
