The Sabin Community Association received a major alteration notice on April 16, 2017, for 4622 NE 21st Avenue. The owners plan to convert the existing attic to living space and add a gable dormer on the rear of the house, including a bathroom. The work will not expand the footprint of the house. The tentative start date for the construction is June 26, 2017.

The Sabin Community Association received a major alteration notice on April 4, 2017, for 4135 NE 14th Avenue. The owners plan a rear addition and second story above it. Under City Code, the owner cannot begin work on this project until May 9, 2017.
Please contact the LUTC chair, Rachel Lee, if you have any questions about this notice. The Sabin LUTC has received a proposal for exterior alterations at 3039 NE 15th Avenue. The applicant is also requesting a modification of the height limit for retaining walls, to accommodate alterations to an existing retaining wall. This property is within the boundaries of the Irvington Historic District and therefore must go through the historic review process. Sometimes the old ways turn out to be the best after all.
After trying out a new time and location this year, the LUTC is moving its meeting time from second Mondays back to the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 pm. We are also changing the meeting location from Sabin School back to the Mount Bachelor conference room at Whole Foods. So, our April meeting will be Wednesday, April 5, at 7:00 pm at Whole Foods. Everyone is invited to come. Please contact the LUTC chair, Rachel Lee, with any questions. The Sabin LUTC has received a proposal for altering an existing garage at 1612 NE Klickitat to elevate it by approximately 18 inches, construct a new concrete garage underneath it, extend the structure to the rear (south) by 5 feet, and convert it into an accessory dwelling unit. The applicant is also requesting a modification of the east setback from 5 feet to 2 feet. This property is within the boundaries of the Irvington Historic District and therefore must go through the historic review process.
